SIV can help with various types of occasional inflammatory skin issues. The serum works on the skin’s immune system, which is one of the main things the skin microbiome controls. When we have occasional inflammatory issues, it’s an overworking of the immune system. This means the skin is reacting to things that it should not be reacting to, which is triggered by a dysbiotic skin microbiome.

Instructions: Before use, shake vigorously. Apply 1–3 drops once daily. Pat into dry or damp skin. Apply SIV after cleansing and toner, but before other serums and moisturizer.
Suggested Order: Cleanser, Toner, SIV, Other serums, then finish with Moisturizer/SPF

FAQ:

Are clumps in the serum normal?

Yes, natural settling and clumps are expected. This serum is intentionally formulated without fillers or suspension agents. Because of this, natural settling and clumps are expected. You may notice small white or beige particles - these are simply the carriers for the bacterial strains. As the serum is used, these particles become more uniform and form a fine beige sediment at the bottom.

How to Use the Serum:

• Shake vigorously until the sediment is fully dispersed into the liquid. Apply as usual - any visible particles melt into the skin.
• Once the bottle is set down, the ingredients will naturally settle again. This is perfectly normal. Simply shake before each application.
• Temperature during shipping can also play a role-colder regions may see slightly tighter particle clusters at first, while other areas won’t see it at all. A few extra shakes will always bring everything back into a fine, even consistency.

Is it supposed to smell like that?

Yes! The Biome Balancing Serum has an earthy, biological smell to it (similar to an old cheese). This is a good thing! As your microbiome balances out, the smell will improve/diminish.

SIV is committed to using biocompatible ingredients. Therefore, the serum does not contain any added fragrance. The compounds used in added fragrances can compromise the skin microbiome.

The expected and unique scent of SIV’s Biome Balancing Serum results from the biocompatible ingredients used (Bacillus).

This scent dissipates quickly, especially if other products are used over the serum.
